1. Which 21st Century Skills do you feel this assignment addresses, and why? For this project I used self directional, and thinking and problem solving skills. This project took about a month, so we had to make sure not to wait until the last minute. There were two parts to the project and each part took two weeks. Since we had a lot of time, I tried to take advantage of that and made sure I did not procrastinate. There were also times when problems came up because it was a creative project, and I am not the most creative in t-shirt making. 2. What are you most proud of from this assignment, and why? I am most proud of the end result on the backside of the t-shirt. I know I can't draw things that well, so I had to figure out a different way to do it. Instead of using markers, I used different fabric to create little pictures. 3. How did you develop and/or improve upon your 21st Century Skills with this assignment? I improved upon my self directional skills, because I actually used them this time. I usually procrastinate on projects, but this time I didn't, and it really helped me out. Now I know that it really works, so I will do it more often. I improved upon my problem solving skills because I had to solve problems to come up with the finished product. 4. What was most difficult about completing this task? The most difficult part of this project was figuring out how to write everything I needed to write on the shirt. I the end I printed and then ironed all the words on the shirt since writing on it just looked bad. Figuring out the themes for both side were also hard because everything on the shirt then had to be about that. 5. How could you improve this work? If you could start over, what would you do different? If I could have redone this, I would have probably added more color, and tried to fill up more of the blank spaces. Even though I had everything I needed, I think my shirt would have looked better if it was more filled up. 6. How does this relate to what you have learned in the past? This project related to everything that we had learned about elements. We had to use basic facts, chemical and physical properties, uses, and many more things that we had to research. We also had another project right before this one that helped us to get ready for this one. 7. How can you apply this to future learning? After doing this project, chemistry class has gotten easier. A lot of what we are learning now has to do with the elements, so now we have background information and it makes learning new stuff a lot easier. I also know now how to design a t-shirt.
