Work Description: This was one of my favorite projects in Spanish. We first had to come up with what we were going to say in English. Then we had to translate it all to Spanish. Once we had that done we got to choose a way to present it (like a slideshow). Since this project had to be about our self, we had to include many pictures with our self in it. This was hard to do at first because I don't have many pictures of me, but once I found one, I was easily able to find the rest. Since Ms. Tosta had to leave, we didn't get to present them, but we did send them to her. Overall this was a really fun project, and I enjoyed it a lot.
Which 21st Century Skills do you feel this assignment addresses, and why? For this project we used our global awareness skills. That is because the whole project was in Spanish. We also used our global awareness skills throughout the whole course. We also had to use communication skills because we had to communicate with our teacher in a different language. What are you most proud of from this assignment, and why? I am really proud of all the pictures I found of myself. At the beginning of the project I didn't think I had many pictures of myself. I was also able to translate almost everything without having to use google translate. Lastly, I think the overall neatness of my presentation was really nice. I also found a new way to make a presentation. How did you develop and/or improve upon your 21st Century Skills with this assignment? I improved my skills, because I learned how to communicate in another language! I also used technology in a new way to create an interesting and powerful presentation. This took a lot of thinking and problem solving. What was most difficult about completing this task? Even though I was able to figure out what I had to say without using google translate, it still took me time to look through my notes for some of the translations. I also had to make sure what google translate was saying was correct, because sometimes it gives some false information. How could you improve this work? If you could start over, what would you do different? I personally don't think I could improve this project. I got a 100% percent and only good feedback. I also think I did everything to the best of my abilities. I used the correct adverbs (ie. differently), correct grammar, and fun pictures. How does this relate to what you have learned in the past? This project shows all of the Spanish I have learned in the past, and some new things that I learned during this project. I also used my knowledge of pictures from earlier in my life when I had to retrieve some photographs from the past. How can you apply this to future learning? I'm excited to use my new vocabulary in the future. I am also happy to use my new knowledge of the language and culture when I travel the world.
